If you receive the message "Invalid Paragraph. Optimize Document." when opening a text file, you will need to optimize it. You need only optimize a file when you are asked to. This can happen when a text file becomes corrupt. In most cases, optimizing the file will reconstruct and fully restore it. Other times you may lose a few lines. When this happens Eclipse will mark the area with a notation something like: "##### Optimization Start." So, it will show you where it had to drop someting... To optimize, select Optimize from the File menu. (Any files you have open will close.) Select the file that needs optimizing from the file dialog. You will be prompted to enter a new name for the file. (You may omit the .ECL extension.) A progress bar will appear, indicating the progress of the optimization process. When the optimization is finished, you will see a message that says "File optimization complete. You should now be able to edit the text file with the new name you just supplied." Click OK to close this message. You may now open the file with Alt-E. Be sure to open the file with the new name you gave it in Step 3, not its original name. You may also want to rename other files associated with this text file, such as the NOT/DIX/WAV files, to match the new name of the text (.ECL) file. NOTE: It is no longer necessary to optimize dictionaries.
